Our seasonal subtype hair charts were initially launched in line with our virtual services in 2020 and were recently redesigned as part of our product rebrand for 2025.
These charts are included as part of Silver and Platinum packages. They can also be selected as the one additional chart on the Premium package or one of the two additional charts on the Supreme package.
FAQ hair Charts
In this article, we will answer some frequently asked questions in relation to our hair chart range.
For questions related to colour charts, lipstick charts and eyeshadow charts, please see the links to these separate articles.
If your question is not covered, please email us at hello@bonnystyling.com and a stylist will aim to reply within 48hrs during our working days.
How much are the hair charts?
All of our charts, including hair, are listed on our website store at £14.99 [GBP]. We have also listed these on Etsy at the same price but, due to their digital download tax, they sell at £17.99 [GBP]. Please note, we do not receive the additional £3.00 [GBP].
If hair charts are purchased as part of a package, they are each subject to a 50% discount. Please note, the values below reflect the price of the included charts on the package only.
*You may select one colour, one hair, one lipstick or one eyeshadow as part of your Premium package
*You may select any two of the following charts as part of your Supreme package: colour, hair, lipstick or eyeshadow
Is the hair chart personalised to myself individually?
All of our charts (including colour, hair, lipstick and eyeshadow) are generic to individuals with colouring similar to yours. For personalised advice, we advise purchasing a Silver or Platinum package, which both include our hair dye recommendations service.
What is the price range of the products and which brands are included?
The products on each hair chart range from £5 [GBP] to £20 [GBP]. Brands vary by chart but we have tried where possible to include a variety carried by Target and Amazon to make this accessible for our core market. Many charts therefore include products by Clairol, Garnier, Schwarzkoph, L'Oreal, Josh Wood Colour and Avon.
Please ensure you carry out a patch test before using any of these products even if you have done so previously.
We also recommend seeking advice from a professional stylist who may be able to advise a colour from their own range based on the hair chart swatches.
Where can I shop the products?
Many of the products on your chart will be available to shop through the brand themselves as well as larger retailers such as Amazon and Target. If you're struggling to locate a product on your chart, please send an email to hello@bonnystyling.com with your order number and a stylist will be happy to find a link for you. Please note, we cannot accept responsibility for products going out of stock but will be happy to suggest an alternative.
If you purchase a Silver or Platinum package, you will receive personalised hair dye recommendations with clickable links to the products.
How do I find out my season and subtype?
We have a range of resources on our website and social media to help you find your season and subtype. However, it is difficult to be subjective when assessing your own colours so we always recommend a virtual Colour Analysis with one of our stylists. Silver and Platinum packages include personalised hair dye advice.
I only want to know the blonde/brunette/red/black hair dyes that I could use. How can I find these out without purchasing the full chart?
Read the hair dye post on your subtype's blog for generic recommendations for these specific colours. Alternatively, you can purchase a Silver or Platinum package to receive personalised hair dye advice.
What hair colours are included?
Hair colours differ for each seasonal subtype as those we recommend vary based on whether you are warm, cool or neutral as well as whether your value is light or dark. Light Spring and Light Summer, for example, contain more blondes and no dark brunettes or blacks, whereas Dark Winter and Dark Autumn do not contain any blondes.
Where can I buy my chart?
Hair charts are available to purchase from our store or clicking the individual links below. Alternatively, they are also available to shop via Etsy. Please ensure you select the correct season and subtype before checking out as we are unable to exchange digital downloads.
Why are the swatches identical?
The swatches are derived from colour samples of the product. Results may vary and differ depending on your unique colouring. This is why we recommend purchasing a Silver or Platinum package to receive personalised hair dye advice.
Do you offer any discounted bundles for additional hair charts or other products?
You can shop hair and colour bundles with a preset 50% off via Etsy. Simply add both products to your basket and checkout to qualify. Alternatively, if you would like to buy an additional hair chart for the seasonal subtype you flow towards, please contact us for a discount code.
How is the hair chart organised?
The lightest colours are featured on the left hand side of the second page and gradually get darker towards the right. This allows you to select colours based on your recommended combinations.
Can I share the hair chart with my friends?
The hair charts are licensed for personal use. Distribution and editing is strictly prohibited.
I'm a colour stylist and want blank templates for my own business. Can you share these?
We are currently working on a range of stylist tools, which will be available to purchase and edit using Canva. More information will be published when these are on sale. Due to demand, we are unable to grant permissions for collaboration. This includes businesses wishing to translate the hair charts into other languages.
