You’ve taken the first step in discovering your power colours! This is a key move in ending those “nothing to wear” moments for good.
If you’ve purchased a colour analysis from us, you’ll receive two download links. The first includes additional details about your package, along with instructions for your images. The second is your colour questionnaire.
This questionnaire provides your stylist with valuable insight into how you currently perceive and wear colour. Many of our clients find it incredibly helpful in evaluating their current wardrobe choices and reflecting on what’s working as well as what needs to change.

General
How do I complete the questionnaire?
The colour questionnaire is an interactive PDF meaning it can be edited using Acrobat Reader or another form filling program such as PDFfiller. Please check the copy you are attaching has saved with your answers completed.
If you are unable to do this, please feel free to type your answers in the message body when you email your required images. You must include your order number.
My answer isn't an option and/or there isn't enough space to give additional detail.
We kindly ask you to highlight the 'other' box in each question. Any questions unanswered will be queried by your stylist to ensure they haven't been accidentally missed. We will not be able to begin your analysis until we have clarification on this so it may delay your estimated delivery time if questions are left blank.
You are also welcome to include any further information in the message body of your email.
Where do I find my order number?
You will find your order number on your invoice or email receipt. If you have purchased your analysis on Etsy, you can also find it on your purchase list.
On gift vouchers, the order number is your unique code. If this has not been filled out, please ask the individual who purchased it from you to find it on their order.
Can I give my full name instead of first or a nickname?
We recommend using a first name or nickname for GDPR purposes. However, you are welcome to include your surname if you would prefer. Please be wary of any spelling errors or typos as this name appears below your image on the polaroid frame.
Skin
What is meant by neutrals? I only wear colours.
For this question, we ask you to focus on neutrals alone. You're welcome to let us know about any accent colours you prefer separately in your email. We ask about neutrals over accent colours to gauge an idea of your hue, value and chroma.
Neutral colours don't fall into the traditional categories of bold or vibrant hues. They act as a subtle backdrop and are often versatile, complementing or balancing out other colours in a palette. As such, many people consider these as 'safe colours' as they don't draw a lot of attention worn solely on their own.
Where cool individuals look yellow and sickly in beiges and creams, warm seasons are blanched by certain blues and greys. Unless you're a Winter, pure white and pure black will pale your image. These colours can also overemphasise warm tones and cast yellow or green tinges on the skin. However, this may be something you're unaware of.
I don't wear jewellery and/or makeup. How do I answer those questions?
For any questions that do not apply, we ask you to highlight 'other' and give a brief explanation in the box below. Your stylist will query any questions left blank in case they have been accidentally missed so this prevents any delays whilst they chase up if this is the case.
I avoid the sun or live in an area with limited light. How do I answer the questions about tanning?
Perhaps there is a time that you have been exposed to sun on vacation, as an adolescent or young adult. Try to answer this question based on your experience during this time and leave a note in the box to advise on the age you were then.
Children tend to burn easily and skin matures as we age so we ask you not to base your experience before puberty.
If you have never been exposed to sun at any point after puberty, please type 'never' in the text box.
What do you classify as freckles?
Freckles are small, flat spots on the skin that are typically light brown or tan in colour. They are caused by an increase in the amount of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour, in certain areas of the skin. Freckles are usually more common in people with fair skin, especially those with red or blonde hair, and they tend to appear after exposure to sunlight.
You can also use this area to tell us about any moles or sun spots you have developed over time.
I'm unable to see any veins on the underside of my wrist. Where else can I look?
Visible veins can be seen in certain areas of the body, particularly where the skin is thinner or where veins are closer to the surface. For some people, this may not be possible in the wrists.
Other common places where veins are visible include:
Hands and fingers
Inner elbow
Tops of the feet
Calves or thighs
Neck
Eyes
What if my eyes are a mix of colours?
Highlight any boxes which apply in this question.
If you have hazel eyes, please highlight 'hazel' alongside the colours you see. Typically this is green and brown but Summer individuals may see blue and grey accents etched amongst these colours.
Colour Analysis Goals
What are colour analysis goals?
Use this space to tell us why you've purchased a virtual colour analysis or what you hope to gain from the experience. Perhaps you're planning to dye your hair or make educated clothing and makeup investments.
Hair
My hair has turned grey and I'm unsure about the colour it was before. How do I answer the hair question?
Your stylist will assess your current colour in order to design your personalised palette. Warm seasons tend to develop yellowish white greys as they age whereas cool individuals will see silver or 'salt and pepper' variations. However, any insight into your colour at a younger age will strengthen their findings.
To do this, we ask about your hair colour when you were aged around 18yrs. Depending on your current age, we ask if it is possible to see a photograph of yourself at this age.
If your hair has always been grey or white, please highlight this box and give a brief explanation in the comment box.
What is meant by 'hair depth'?
Hair depth refers to the overall darkness or lightness of your hair colour. It is a term commonly used in colour analysis to describe how light or dark the hair is, ranging from light blonde to medium brown or jet black.
If you're naturally blonde, this colour may be almost white (fair) or you may question if it is light brown. This would make it a dark blonde. Similarly, if you have black hair but it has some glints of brown, this could be considered a light black.
What is meant by 'hair tone'?
Unlike hair depth (see above), which describes how light or dark your hair is, hair tone refers to whether the colour is warm or cool.
Warm Hair with warm tones has golden or reddish accents. These colours might include shades like caramel, auburn, copper or golden blonde.
Cool Hair with cool tones has a blue, ash or violet base. Shades such as ash blonde, platinum blonde or deep brown with cool undertones fall under this category.
Neutral tone Hair with a neutral tone is a balanced mix of both warm and cool undertones. Neutral hair shades like neutral brown or beige blonde don't lean strongly toward gold, red or ash.
Why do you ask about 'hair shine'?
Hair shine refers to the natural reflective quality of your hair's surface. Whilst it is an indication of how healthy and smooth your hair is, it also suggests your chroma - that is, whether you are muted or bright.
Summer and Autumn are muted seasons and we tend to see glistening finishes in the hair of these individuals. That means individual flecks reflect the light.
In comparison, bright seasons such as Winter and Spring have a higher proportion of reflective qualities to their features. We see glossier shines in these subtypes.
We often liken hair shine to the sun reflecting on the surface of a lake. If the water is still, the light distributes over one large area. This is similar to the shine we see in bright seasons. When the water is moving, the light creates a glittering effect, which is what we see in Summer and Autumn hair.
This can be difficult to see if your hair is naturally curly. You may need to pull a strand taut under a light to assess the level of shine.
I've never dyed my hair. Do I have to answer this question?
The first three questions on the right hand side of the second page ask about hair dye.
Provided you highlight 'never' as your answer on the first box, you can leave the following two questions blank. If you do not highlight 'never', a stylist will email to double check this. Please note, this can delay your estimated delivery date. This is why we ask you to highlight 'never'.
